DEMAND & PRODUCTION PLANNER - BREAD

An excellent career opportunity exists for interested and qualified candidates to apply for the following position (fixed term) at Namib Mills (Pty) Ltd, situated in Windhoek.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To take full accountability for demand forecasting, production planning alignment and daily volume management for the Bread category, ensuring optimal service levels, minimal waste and accurate sales-to-production integration within a high-volume, time-critical FMCG environment. This includes coordinating of production planning activities, operational efficiency, effective stock and distribution control, and exceptional customer service delivery. In addition, the position drives sales growth by developing and implementing market strategies aligned with organisational objectives, while supporting production and interbranch logistics to maintain optimal product availability. 

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demand Forecasting & Volume Planning by developing and maintaining accurate daily, weekly and monthly demand forecasts by SKU and region
  • Production Planning Alignment by translating demand forecasts into actionable production plans
  • Sales & Commercial Integration by working closely with Sales Representatives and Trade Managers
  • Risk Management & Control
  • Data Management & Reporting by maintaining forecast models and planning tools
  • Process Institutionalisation
  • Execute Adhoc tasks as prescribed by Superior.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG demand planning, production planning or supply chain analytics.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation capability
  • Advanced Excel and forecasting model proficiency
  • Must have a valid Namibian driver’s license.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (verbal & written)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite) with advanced Excel and forecasting model proficiency
  • Namibian citizen
